Logging an assessment (coach)

FTP tests, swim CSS, run threshold, lactate tests, body comp, and how the Hub stores them.

What an assessment is

An Assessment is a structured test record. The Hub recognises about 21 assessment types across six domains (swim, bike, run, body, environment, lab) and stores both the raw inputs you collected and the computed outputs.

Examples:

Where to log an assessment

  1. From the athlete's performance dashboard, click New assessment.
  2. Pick the AssessmentType (e.g. "20-min FTP test").
  3. Fill in the raw inputs the template asks for.
  4. Save.

The Hub computes the outputs immediately, updates the athlete's threshold zones if applicable, and writes a PerformanceRecord row for trend tracking.

When zones update

Zone updates happen automatically when an assessment finishes:

If you want the new zones to apply only from a specific date, set the Effective date on the assessment.

Linking to activities

Many assessments are derived from a specific uploaded activity. On the assessment form, link the activity (search by date and sport) so the raw file is associated.

Reviewing the trend

Each PerformanceRecord row feeds the trend chart on the athlete's sport analytics page. The Hub shows the assessment timeline so you can see how the athlete's FTP or CSS evolves across a season.
