Submitting your race recap (athlete)

The short post-race form that closes the loop.

What a recap is

After a race, file a short post-race reflection. It captures the parts of the race that timing data alone cannot: how it felt, what worked, what did not, and what to do next time.

URL: /my-races/<race_id>/recap/. Also reachable from your past races list on /my-races/. The link appears on the race detail page after the race date.

What to fill in

For the field-by-field reference see Filing a race recap.

Time required

Five to ten minutes for an A race; two to three minutes for B and C races. Less is fine if you are time crunched, but more is better because details fade fast.

What your coach sees

The recap is visible to your coach immediately. Combined with your imported timing and your activity FIT, your coach can compare:

When to file

Within 48 to 72 hours of the race. If you have not filed within a week, you will still remember the broad strokes but lose the small details that matter most.

Editing later

You can edit the recap any time. Most athletes refine it once about a week later when they have read their coach's debrief note.
