Use the visual trim tool to drop dead time so the stats reflect the real effort.
Trim when the file includes time that isn't the effort: a long stationary wait at the start, the watch left running past the finish, or warm-up / cool-down you don't want polluting the stats. Trimming recomputes the session's effective duration, distance, pace, HR, power, NP and the recap analysis.
On the activity's Trim & Adjust panel:
Cutting real riding/running makes the session look shorter and faster than it was, and skews pace, power and gradient analysis. The live distance readout is your guard, if it drops below the real session distance, you've cut too much. Trimming stationary time (speed ≈ 0) is safe: it removes time without removing distance.
