Marking an athlete unavailable — illness, travel, race week
Use availability markers so the calendar reflects real life, not just plan vs actual.
Why this exists
Plans break. Athletes get sick, travel, taper into races, or
voluntarily take recovery days. Without a marker, those days look
like "missed" workouts in compliance reports — which they aren't.
The availability marker tells the calendar why a workout didn't
happen so the coach reads the same week correctly.
How to set it
On either the per-athlete calendar (/athlete/<pid>/calendar/) or
the coach team calendar (/coach/calendar/):
- Click the day cell for the affected athlete.
- In the day-options panel choose Availability and pick one of:
* Available (default — green tick)
* Illness (red cross)
* Travel (yellow plane)
* Race week (orange flag)
* Recovery (blue Z)
- Optional: add a note ("strep, GP visit Thursday").
- Save.
What it changes
- The day cell renders with the availability badge instead of an
empty "missed" pill.
- Compliance % for that week excludes days marked non-available
from the denominator.
- The note appears as a tooltip on the cell and on the workout
notes thread.
What it does NOT do
- It does not automatically delete or reschedule planned
workouts on that day. The coach explicitly chooses whether to
bin the session, soft-skip it, or push it.
- It does not affect the ATP plan — only the calendar view.
